A Little Bit About Me:

Hello!  I am so excited to teach not only Algebra and Geometry this year but Science as well.  I grew up in Ventura, California and attended UC San Diego for my undergrad.  Science and math have always been my love. Being a dual citizen with Switzerland, I have always had a passion for traveling.  I have been to 35 of the 50 U.S. states and over a dozen countries.

When I'm not busy working, I enjoy hanging out with my four kids. My oldest son, Soren, will be starting his second year at UC Davis where he is majoring in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior. We are a big sports household- I love college basketball, NFL football, and watching soccer. We really enjoyed watching the Olympics this summer- especially women's volleyball. It's so cool that they won the gold! I grew up running track and cross-country and still try to squeeze in runs as much as possible.  My daughter Meta plays rugby and is a senior at Ponderosa. She is already looking for a college with a direct admit nursing program as she wants to be an ER nurse. My step-son Cole plays water polo for American River College, and my step-son Carson runs track at McClatchy High School where he is a senior. In addition to my four human children I also have five fur children- we have two dogs, Bernie and Tuesday, and three cats named Daisy, Roxie and Lola.

I grew up playing the piano but am now wanting to learn to play the violin.  I feel it's always good to keep your mind fresh and learn something new!  To unwind, I love to cook.  Following recipes are not my thing; I enjoy the more creative side of cooking.  Who knows, maybe I'll make something for the class sometime!

I am really looking forward to getting to know you this year too.
